About Local 13

Local 13 represents almost 20,000 part- and full-time longshore workers who discharge cargo at the ports of Los Angeles and Long Beach. Local 13 is the largest ILWU local on the West Coast with over 7,000 registered members. Membership continues to grow as the cargo volume crossing our local docks makes these two ports the busiest seaport complex in America.

We move the world's goods, one container at a time, millions of time a year.
